The CBI has decided to seek enhancement of the six-month sentence handed to S.P.S. Rathore, the former Haryana DGP who molested Ruchika Girhotra and allegedly drove her to suicide.
The CBI will appeal against the punishment given to Rathore for molesting Ruchika.
Rathore was convicted under Section 354 of IPC. The maximum punishment under this section is two years. However, the special court gave only six months’ imprisonment to Rathore and imposed a paltry fine of Rs 1,000.
